Bullet Stress

Personal Log: "Bullet Stress"

Reven sat on the biobed in sickbay. He wasn't quite sure exactly how much time had passed, but he felt like it had been several hours at least. There was a dull ache in his chest, residual pain from the procedure, and whatever else Hazeline and Ceja had one to preserve his life.

In his hand were the bullets that had almost killed him, cleaned of course. They fascinated him. He could barely tear his gaze away from them for very long. They were made of silver, TDF standard issue, and while slightly deformed from the stress were mostly intact.

It was funny to him to think that he could stress a bullet. Even if it was not entirely accurate. Truth be told, it was a small miracle in itself that they did not pass straight through him.

He squeezed them tight in his hand, and retrieved a cola from a small tray sitting next to his bed. Someone else had been here, Soori probably, though it could have been anyone. Not sure if it was actually wise to drink anything, much less a sugary caffeinated beverage such as this, but no one from the medical staff was currently watching.

He sipped long and slow, before placing it back on its place by the tray, and laying back. Sleep would probably be hard to come by, and any he actually got was likely to be marred by dreams of Kara Letz, but he intended to rest, and return to duty as soon as possible.
